Elise Evans Gorun, a Hyde Park resident of many years, passed away Oct. 20 in Loveland, Colorado. 

Elise Evans Gorun, a Hyde Park resident of many years,passed away Oct. 20 in Loveland, Colorado where she and her husband, Alexander Avram Gorun, had recently relocated from Chicago. 

Her parents were Samuel J. Evans Jr. and Gloria Lewis Evans. She earned a graduate degree from the University of Illinois and retired from City Colleges of Chicago. 

Along with her mother and sister, Elise was co-owner of Hyde Park’s Sewing Circle, a shop in Harper Court. She and her husband entertained frequently in their homes in Chicago and New Buffalo, Michigan. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Christine Evans Spencer and Amy Eve Avram Campbell, granddaughter Eva Elise Avram Campbell, uncle John Overton Lewis, sister Eve Evans Earles, nephew Robert Evans Earles, niece Andrea Elise Earles and a host of beloved relatives and friends. A celebration of her life will be held in the future in Chicago.
