Weekend vigil in Washington Park

Last Saturday, people gathered in Washington Park to commemorate "those subject to gun violence and brutality." It lightly rained while community members brought art, flowers and lighted candles to honor those lost.

The event was organized by community groups, including Brave Space Alliance, GoodKids MadCity, Nita's Love Train, Healing Every Revolutionary Chicago, and Black Youth Project 100.

Was there anyone at this anti gun murder gathering that suggested that it might be a good idea to start enforcing our existing laws against carrying unlicensed hand guns, prosecuting people for car jackings, drive by shootings or just ending the "Snitches get stitches" culture that makes it nearly impossible for law enforcement to successfully prosecute gang criminals?
