A storm system moving out of the South and colliding with a northerly cold front caused the city to experience its worst flooding in more than two years.

The National Weather Service reports than more than an inch of rain fell on Hyde Park, though the North Side experienced the worst of the deluge, with more than 4 inches falling on some neighborhoods.
