Allure of matter

"The Allure of Matter," an art exhibition documenting material usage among contemporary Chinese artists, has reopened at the Smart Museum of Art through Aug. 9, but all reservations to see it have been booked.

The Smart Museum, 5550 S. Greenwood Ave., follows the Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive, in announcing a reopening. MSI plans to do so on Aug. 1, with free admission through Aug. 14.

At the Renaissance Society contemporary arts gallery, 5811 S. Ellis Ave., "Nine Lives," part of the nationwide Feminist Art Coalition project, is set to open on Sept. 12.

The Neubauer Collegium, 5701 S. Woodlawn Ave., Hyde Park Art Center, 5020 S. Cornell Ave., Oriental Institute, 1155 E. 58th St., and DuSable Museum, 740 E. 56th Place., remain closed.
